Rocky’s Weekly Stock Picks
Prices Current as of 7/3/2024 6:20PM
Independence Day Eve? Seriously?
Markets closed early, can you believe this?
Clearly everyone, everywhere, is basically checked out for the rest of this week so we’re bringing you five stock picks from a single search on NASDAQ.
DGX - $136.64/share, 2.2% yield. No idea what it does, don’t care. We like the letters.
DIS - $97.99/share, 0.33% yield. Big, bad, nasty, pedo-adjacent Disney. (Editors Note : Just adjacent?).
We’re always saying if you don’t like a company, buy its shares and vote those shares. If 81 million people bought just $100 of Disney common stock, they collectively could control the voting.
(Which by the way is what “they” -don’t- want you to do. So do it, because eff “Them”.)CMTOY - $9.945/share, 5.41% yield. This is some kind of South America ADR, and the company name appears to be “Cementos”.
If this isn’t some kind of cement company, we’d be pleasantly surprised. And confused.SCVL = $36.15/share, 1.49% yield. Shoe Carnival sounds hilarious, and it’s exactly what it sounds like. In that it’s a company that sells shoes.
There is not a carnival theme, but we did find this tidbit about the company.
The company's average store has more than 27,000 pairs of shoes
Nice.
Historically, the price has actually stay stable and risen with inflation. So, actually, a pretty good pick. Go us!SOMC - $15.80/share, 3.8% yield. Southern Michigan Bancorp.
That’s all we need to know. Just for fun, though, let’s see what the summary (on Nasdaq.com) says…
null
Well that’s certainly helpful!
Fun Fact : All the picks ex-div on Monday, 7/8.
