Rocky’s Weekly Stock Picks
This week’s picks are more or less off the cuff, with the first 3 having been decided only shortly before the writing of this article. RIOT won’t be on this list, but deserves an early mention. The price is creeping up to that $40 mark, and BitCoin has stabilized at sub-$50k prices for the time being. This is an expensive FOMO for us, but one that is worth considering. High-volatility weekly options are our heroin.
RYCEY - Rolls Royce. Apparently it isn’t technically the company making airplane engines, but a holding company for the company making EV’s, and airplane engines. Trading around $1.50, we had already decided this is a great chance to get in, as the price really has nowhere left to go but up. But that’s why we bought it last time, not why we bought more.
They’re making mini-nuclear reactors. Some significant milestone has been achieved to where it has moved beyond hypothetical to, this is what RR is doing. We love nuclear, which brings us to…UEC - Another favorite of ours, this is options expiration week for monthlies. CSPs, PMCCs, or Buy-Writes. You can’t go wrong. This company goes out and gets uranium. Uranium for nuclear reactors. Share price closed at $2.11 on Friday.
WKHS - Closed under $10. Of course we’re buying more! They also apparently have cut ties to another company they were associated with. We caught a headline but don’t have much substance. The lack of information doesn’t change our recommendation. Also, weekly options.
HRZN - $17.30 closing price on Friday. Pays a monthly $.10 dividend, for some 7% annual return. We’re also impressed with the consistency with which they’ve been paying for the last decade. Ex-div is Tuesday.
PFLT - $13.30, paying $.095 per share, for some 8.6% annual return. This is another monthly dividend with ex-div on Tuesday. Technically interest income, but rather a moot point for our purposes. You see, us poor people don’t experience a difference in tax obligation due to silly things like qualified dividends and tax protected interest income.
Crypto Recommendation Bonus!
TRX - Acquire Tron. Stake Tron. Freeze Tron. Rather than explain this in full detail, we will explain the recommendation itself.
For the amateur investor, being responsible and working their summer job, a bunch of staked Tron is really the way to go. You want to realize a meaningful gain, but also have a practical functionality to your coin, and you don’t want to try very hard. Go with TRX. Come back to it in a month, maybe spend Labor Day learning about smart contracts. Just saying.
