Rocky’s Weekly Stock Picks
Rockydennis Presents The Chubb Corporation (CB) 104.43
I found this image and had to use it, because obviously the best stocks to invest in are the ones with the best names. And honestly, with only this image to go on, I may buy this stock. Not recommend it, though. If you had a $100 dart to throw, this would be an alright target.
12:13 AM - After checking Nasdaq.com…. 12:15 AM - Remembered that June 19th is now a federal holiday.
Okay, so markets are open tomorrow. Banks are a toss-up. Comerica closes early at 2 PM. I didn’t check the rest, but a headline said that Chase is “observing” the new federal holiday.
Back to The Chubb, it appears that the price is now 156.01 and pays a $3.20 annual dividend, about 80 cents a share per quarter. Anyway, on to this week’s picks.
PFGC - $47/share, Performance Food Group is a solid investment for a low and slow kind of play. This stock pays no dividend (yet), and only trades monthly options. This stock basically can’t go down. They provide food and beverages to gas stations. That’s not all, but that alone guarantees a long-term steady revenue.
SXT - $86.94 This company makes flavors. And smells. They’ve been doing it since the 1880’s. Yes, 1880’s. Chances are you, you’ve already had them in your mouth. Or on your skin.
BKD - $8.33 Brookdale Senior Living. Not a REIT, sadly, but caring for the elderly is definitely a business with no lack of clients. The company seems to have had great success with dementia care in addition to standard elderly community assisted living options and such. We say buy before $9.
After that buy an OTM put with a far expiry, and move on. Add in a GTC order to close when the price dips to $7.
SIRI -$6.30 SiriusXM The way that satellite radio has evolved, and how Sirius has been able to adapt itself to become a profitable company gives us a lot of faith in this stock. As people continue to drive, and flying cars become more prevalent (they aren’t really flying cars, but kind of), satellite radio will only continue to grow.
Satellite radio is the kind of product that generates dedicated subscribers, even as traditional radio continues to be increasingly ignored in favor of literally anything else. As far as price prospects, we’re buying up to $9 and trading weekly options along the way.
Also, $0.01 dividends.
UEC - $2.89 Under $3 is a bargain. Options trade monthly. If you can afford to sell a $3 put and buy 100 shares/write a $3.50 call…that’d be a great move for the month. Or just buy and hold. Uranium is going to get expensive soon. Not super soon, but soon. Soon™.
