Rocky’s Weekly Stock Picks

This week we’re trying to care, but truth be told, we’re really just reinvesting our gains into the same ol’ same ol’. Which, isn’t a bad approach to life necessarily.

We did come across a company, PMD, that looks like a decent cyclical buy. They manufacture drug testing kits, and seem to have a four-to-six year cycle of sharp price increase/deep price depression.

The concept seems solid, but the company itself has only been in business for just shy of 40 years. Which isn’t bad, but they also only employ a little over a hundred people. Also not terrible. Our main drag with them is that their primary products are competing in a heavily saturated market, against much larger corporations.

  1. FTCO - $5.49/share, 8.79% yield distributed monthly. Without actually looking closer at Fortitude Gold, we suspect that it’s not… nevermind, we looked. Seems legit.

The price has appreciated since our initial entry, so that’s good.

We really are never going to be gold-adverse. Gold is as safe as it gets. Of course, owning actual physical gold is ideal.

  2. HAS - $72.94/share, 3.89% distributed quarterly, options trade monthly.

Having entered in at $100, and averaged down at $50, we’re very pleased with our decision to buy into Hasbro.

  3. CB - $301.66/share, 1.2% yield distributed quarterly, options trade monthly. Insurance companies are as good as gold. Here is a succinct description, from Fidelity.

Chubb Limited provides insurance and reinsurance products worldwide.

  4. PMD - $2.31/share.

That’s it. We pretty much covered our rationale for buying this stock in the intro. Hold for a year and try to sell at 2x-4x. It’s not super glorious, but it is reasonable.

  5. RYCEY - $7.49/share. Rollys Royce is going to the moon!

We were under the impression that a dividend was coming before the end of 2024, but so far we have no concrete information to support this.

Potential for dividends aside, we expect share price to hit double-digits and have a solid run towards $100.

Our entry was at $2, and our exit is $250.

In any case, we would suggest that any price under $10 is a steal.
