Rocky’s Weekly Stock Picks
This week we are yet again just going right into safety picks with very little concern for overall yield or options availability.
Why would we do this? Are we lazy? Busy doing other things? Both?
42.
LMT - $429.99/share, 2.93% yield. This is one of those stocks where what it lacks in dividend output it makes up for with long-term growth guarantees.
Lockheed Martin isn’t making that guarantee, we are. This is investment advice. This is investment promises.
We can say that because we’re not bound by SEC regulations concerning certain professions and licenses. Also, we’re not wrong. There will never not be an increasing need for military expansion and development.CAT - $340.22/share, 1..53% yield. It doesn’t really matter if construction is in a boom or a bust phase. The fact of the matter is, construction never stops. This means the need for heavy machinery never stops.
Caterpillar is there for all of your mega-project needs.CVX - $149..37/share, 4.36% yield. We love oil, therefore we love Chevron. Chevron = Oil, Oil = Winning.
We actually prefer companies that operate the pipelines that carry oil and natural gas, but our current holdings are a bit light so we wanted to expand on them.
If you specifically hate Chevron (understandable), just substitute for XOM or SHEL. At the end of the day, it’s pretty much all the same.
*It’s not really all the same, but it might as well be for our purposes as amateur retail investors.HAS - $51.36/share, 5.45% yield. Hasbro is one of our guilty pleasure favorites, and also is one of the few consumer cyclicals we view as a solid long-term hold. Basically, they’re too big to fail.
Also, we YOLO’d at $100/share, so we need to average down our costs.ARR - $19.36/share, 14.88% yield. We couldn’t not include one of our favorite REITs. While not our absolute favorite, we do have to give some preference as this is held by some very high-performing ETFs.
If the big boys hold ARR, we probably should as well. BUT, if you absolutely hate residential real estate, consider LTC (senior housing/healthcare properties) or WSR (commercial ofices).
Or maybe you just want to share in the glory of American Industrial Might? STAG.
Goodnight, everybody!
