Very few Indonesian stocks trade on NYSE, which isn’t a problem if you’ve got a bank account inside Indonesia. Oh…you don’t? Yeah, us neither. It’s expensive, confusing, and has tax consequences.BKRKY - $18.50/share, 6.8% paid irregularly. These are ADRs of OTC shares representing Bank Rakyat of Indonesia. The actual shares are like $0.35, but you can’t buy those on Robinhood. Just saying.
PPERY - $16.65/share, 4.36% paid annually. This is another Indonesian bank, Mandiri, sharing similar characteristics to Rakyat.
Isn’t it strange how every stock for banks over 100 years old are pretty much guaranteed to both appreciate and provide a modest dividend? Just saying.TLK - $25.32/share, annual dividend of 4.36%. Another Indonesian winner you can buy on the NYSE with your phone. This is a telecommunications company that does quite well for itself.
INDO - $2.90/share, no dividends. This is an oil and gas company and we’ve got an unrealized loss of about 50% here. At one point in 2022, this stock skyrocketed for a brief moment. Not so far back it also spiked for a day or so.
In any case, we love oil and gas and we believe that Indonesians will learn to love it, too.
