Rocky’s Weekly Stock Picks

This week is another holiday, which means another Monday market closure.

Just for fun, we’re going to make an attempt to use Schwab’s research tools. To their credit, the website has been updated multiple times since they acquired TD Ameritrade. These have been in the right direction. I’m hoping for a happy “tolerable” by this time next year.

  1. ACVF - $36.48/share. Quarterly dividends of more than zero. Price is heading up, and you don’t want to get stuck in the $40+ zone.

The American Conservative Values Fund never fails to deliver.

  2. UBS - $30.96/share. Price is going up! Don’t get stuck at $40+! This used to be Credit Suisse, and then things happened. And now they’re still Swiss and still getting rich.

This actually pays a dividend annually. Last year its ex-div was April 12th and it paid $0.28/share. This year remains to be seen, but Schwab says $0.55. This doesn’t seem right but let’s continue.

  3. FATBP - $14.89/share, 13.89% yield, distributed monthly. These are preferred shares.

  4. AULT/PRD - $17.00/share, paying $0.27/month. Schwab says this is 14.49%. Seems about right, but I’m not about to double check.

This is a random preferred stock that we kind of like. It’s grown on us.

  5. NYMTN - $21.40/share, 9.39% annualized return. Yet another preferred stock that pays nicely.
