Rocky’s Weekly Stock Picks
Another week with no love, just dry, emotion-less picks. Wtf is our problem? Are we depressed or something?
No, don’t be ridiculous. There’s an entire world out here, and we’re in it. With that in mind, let’s just park money.
ARR - $5.37/share, ex-div 4/14. This REIT pays $0.08/share monthly. There’s monthly options, as well, but the strikes are $2.50-wide. Still, we usually just plop a GTC out-of-the-money call sell, and get it bought before month’s end.
Individual contracts can be pretty cool sometimes.EDF -$4.50/share, ex-div 4/12, $0.06/share monthly. This is one of our quiet favorites. It’s buried in our portfolio and we often forget about it, but we’re always happy to buy more. Also, our entry price was over $7, so there’s that. No options.
PFN -$7.22/share, ex-div 4/12, $0.0718/share monthly. Another instance where our entry price was much higher. Of course, we're always happy to buy low, but that’s beside the point.
CLM -$7.79/share, 18.92% annualized, ex-div 4/12, $0.1228/share monthly. This was $0.18/share in 2022, so our “annualized” figure is skewed. And “our figure” is TD Ameritrade’s summary figure.
TD Ameritrade’s web interface can be pretty intimidating/confusing until you figure out how it comes up with some of its numbers.CIO -$6.99/share, ex-div 4/10. Guess we miss out. This is office real estate, though. A flavor of REIT that we highly recommend, but are lacking in the actual holding of. Quarterly distributions are $0.10+/share.
