Rocky’s Weekly Stock Picks

This week isn’t our most motivated, that’s for certain. That’s good, though, we can work with that.

Other outlets providing financial advice wouldn’t acknowledge this, they would just fake it and hide the lack of substance under buzz words and disingenuous disclaimers, claiming “We do not provide financial advice”.

That’s not helpful for those looking for authentic insight and honest opinions. With that out of the way, let’s jump into it.

  1. YCBD - $0.45 a share, monthly options. This is probably the lowest we’re going to see this stock go.

Typically we stick with the preferred shares, which pay monthly. YCBD-A goes ex-div on 7/29. Anytime we can get cumulative preferred shares on a discount is a good time to buy.

  2. ACVF - $29.82, quarterly dividends (not that you’d ever know it). This is definitely a top pick any week, doubly so when our mindset is questionable. An bond or TIPS-based ETF would do just as well.

  3. ORC - $3.07 , monthly distributions, ex-div 7/28. 17.59% annualized return. That figure is a bit misleading (which is a plus in this case). ~11.5% would be the “normal” return.

This is a REIT, dealing with Florida residential. We’re satisfied.

  4. WSR - $10.74 , ex-div 8/1. Whitstone deals with commercial property in metropolitans of Texas. This pays a paltry $0.48 per share per month, coming to about 4.45% annually. We recommend this security, for one main reason.

The share price has steadily risen without following overall market trends. Nice!

  5. MSB - $28.17 , $5.05 annual yield paid quarterly, ex-div $7/28. This metals and mining company has been on our radar for a while, and we’re willing to take a chance on long-term loss. Just a little bit.
